As we look towards the start of a New Year and a new decade, we often make personal resolutions revolving around our health, wellness, and finances. Here are five of our personal safety resolutions we think would be wise to bring into the New Year.

1. Be prepared for emergencies in your car. Pack a complete emergency kit for your vehicle that includes a blanket, candles/flares, jumper cables, bottled water, and a first aid kit.

2. Safeguard your business against cyber attacks. As cyber-attacks continue to grow into one of the fastest-growing crimes, it is important to recognize that every entity, organization, business, or individual that is connected to the Internet is a potential target. Read more here.

3. Change your fire alarm batteries and install CO detectors. As new Ohio code mandates, buildings that contain fuel-burning appliances must install carbon monoxide detectors. 4. Practice food safety. Food safety is not something people typically consider until someone becomes sick. Unfortunately, food poisoning is very real and possibly unleashes severe consequences to those sickened by bad food. Read more here.
