Construction Contractors Restart Ohio!
On Monday, May 4th 2020, non-essential construction contractors were able to return to work in Ohio.
While many artisan contractors were considered essential during Ohio’s stay at home order, many plumbers, electricians and carpenters chose not to work due to the lack of guidance provided by the state. Now, the State has put out guidelines to follow.
I wanted to list a couple of questions to consider that you may not have considered.
If a work crew is traveling in a vehicle, they most likely are not six feet apart so do they need to wear masks or should you have employees all drive in separate vehicles?
If employees are not wearing masks, have you prepared a written justification for why they are not required to wear them?
Have you created your logs to keep track of your daily symptom check?
While the liability of an employer whose employee contracts Covid-19 at work is evolving and most likely will be litigated for years, having established best practices may assist you in any litigation. To discuss your worker’s compensation’s insurance or general liability concerns, contact your Trusted Choice insurance agents at Richey-Barrett.
